Take Part: in the 29th running of this great event. Start time is 10:00 a.m., Saturday 7th December; finish time is 10:00 a.m. Sunday 8th December, for those taking part in the 24 hour event. For anyone wanting a slightly less strenuous event can enter the 16 hr event: starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, through to 10 p.m. with a re-start at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, to also finish by 10:00 a.m. Sunday 8th December. Greatest distance paddled in the 24 hrs (or 16 hrs) win! Go solo, or competitive team (maximum of 4 boats), or social team (maximum of 8 boats) in either time category.

Saturdays: One or two laps on the Molonglo River at Molonglo Reach. 10 a.m. start for 2-lap paddlers, 10:10 a.m. start for 1-lap paddlers. Apprentice time-keepers and catering hands welcomed. Incentive prizes for most-improved (or other good deeds.) Contact: Helen for further information.
The aim for this season is to hold the time trials, to be followed by a morning tea and informative talk - on all sorts of subjects - starting at 11 a.m.. Come along and find out all sorts of things to do with paddling better/more comfortably and your paddling and general health.

Learn to Paddle
If you’re new to paddling the Burley Griffin Canoe Club holds several 'Taste of Paddling' sessions, for non-members who would like to try it out. Bookings are essential and sessions cost $120pp. Contact Patricia for more information.

Participants will be able to try out a variety of boats, learn about equipment, boat handling, entry and exit techniques, basic paddling techniques and basic capsize procedures. Participants are expected to be able to swim 50m. The sessions are held on the Molonglo River in calm conditions close to shore.
