2025 Winter time Trials

Next: Saturday 21st June, 2025:    Be ready (wearing your Lifejacket for Winter) for "Go" at 10:00 a.m.

Saturday 21 June marks the winter solstice for the year. What better way to celebrate the southern hemisphere at its furthest tilt from the sun than a potluck with your paddling pals!  Saturday, 21 June, from 12pm.   Which is also time to celebrate BGCC's 35th Birthday!

Bring something to share that will warm you up after paddling on a crisp winter morning. To assist with planning, please pop what dish you're bringing on this spreadsheet.  Hope to see you there!

2024 - 2025 Taste of Paddling

Learn to Paddle

If you’re new to paddling the Burley Griffin Canoe Club holds several 'Taste of Paddling' sessions, for non-members who would like to try it out. Bookings are essential and sessions cost $120pp.

Sessions are held over the warmer months - usually from October to March.

Contact Patricia for more information.

See Coaching for full details.

Participants will be able to try out a variety of boats, learn about equipment, boat handling, entry and exit techniques, basic paddling techniques and basic capsize procedures. Participants are expected to be able to swim 50m. The sessions are held on the Molonglo River in calm conditions close to shore.
