BGCC is again hosting the PNSW/ACT States with Mates Marathon Championships!
A BIG thank-you to everyone who entered the States with Mates PNSW Marathon Champs before midnight last night. Your complimentary t-shirt size is guaranteed and we really look forward to seeing you all in early March. To those of you who didn't get your entry in time, DON'T PANIC. Its okay. Early bird pricing is live until 26th February but we cannot guarantee your complimentary t-shirt size.
If you have not entered, please think seriously about coming up to Canberra for a fun weekend of racing. The more boats that we have on the water, the more enjoyable the event. States with Mates is a lot more than racing K1s. It is about competing against yourself or your peers with general class racing catering for all brands of canoe or kayak and specific events for beginners. Not to mention the jummy food, great venue and excellent company! It is also a time to experience Canberra at her finest - States with Mates coincides with the Enlighten Festival celebrating Canberra Day, so lots on in the city.
Looking forward to seeing you soon at Burley Griffin Canoe Club

Anyone in a kayak or canoe (no matter what colour, make or weight) is encouraged to enter and discover the fun and comradery of taking part in a race. Every BGCC'er who finishes their event contributes points to the coveted TONGWAY TROPHY - we won it last year ... rumour has it that Sydney-based clubs would love to take it home with them this year ... can't let that happen! The more boats that we have on the water, the more likely that we will keep the TONGWAY. So what are you waiting for ... Enter and be part of the fun. Marathon Champs Entry ] The other trophy up for grabs is the JOAN MORISON Trophy for the club with the most points accrued by female paddlers. Come On Ladies ... Let's win it again too.
